Hot-dip galvanising is the best, most sustainable and efficient way to protect steel against rust. After a number of pretreatment baths the steel structure is immersed in a large bath with molten zinc (approx. 450ºC). During this process the object to be galvanised is coated with zinc-iron alloy layers and generally covered by a layer of pure zinc. This results in extremely strong, corrosion-resistant galvanised steel.

This gives the object optimum protection against extreme weather conditions. In addition, the cathodic operation of zinc provides extra protection, as zinc in combination with steel in a damp environment creates a galvanic element, so that passivating zinc salts fill in any damaged or uncovered parts. An extra natural weapon in the fight against corrosion.

Weert Groep was set up to take care of the whole process: from black steel to delivery to the customer or at the construction site. The savings in time, money, handling and transport speak for themselves.

What is the standard?

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Standards have been drawn up to guarantee quality. The galvanising process at Weert Groep is always carried out in accordance with the requirements and characteristics of ISO 1461 and GSB ST663.

In addition, we can comply with standards such as EN1090 and/or DASt-022. On request we provide, against payment, a written declaration that all materials have been treated in accordance with the above standard(s). For the texts of standards we refer to the relevant standard institutions.
